"Guardian Madonna" ~ 1937 Vintage Chalkware ~ NFS

This is a 1937 vintage chalkware statue of the Virgin Mary transformed into a Day of the Dead Madonna. I carved her features; face and hands, then painted them with acrylics. The detailing is India Ink. I have placed her first on my Chalkware page as she has a special place in my home; she watches over a keepsake urn that holds the ashes of my brother, William Donald Lohnes II, 1963-2009
